Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Position Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Coronavirus Film

The "Taken" star has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that challenges the efficacy of immunizations and commends former government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for allegations that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

Her co-author, the executive producer, has also written books with far-right figure a known commentator. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Neeson have released a statement pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.

"Everyone can recognize that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement states. "Liam has never been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the performer did not shape the film's messaging and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the filmmakers.

Central Claims Featured in the Feature

As presented, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several provocative statements:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "research has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it references a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Background and Recent Debates

The documentary further cites a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a formal apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Last month, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the film, contrary to a recent study from the global health body confirming no such link has been found.

A Past Position of Support

Differing from the film's message, Neeson has previously voiced strong support for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our journey. Rather, it is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
