Slot Maintains He Is Secure and Has The Club's Support After PSV Defeat

Arne Slot conceded that it was natural for questions to be raised about his future following a further convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their 9th loss in twelve games, representing the club's worst run after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult evening at Anfield.

“I'm confident, things are alright, I've received a lot of support from the top,” the coach commented.

“It would be nice to reverse this trend and secure a win of course but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my position. This isn't the initial instance I’ve been in a difficult position but it's necessary that we improved our results.”

Upon being questioned to provide details on his conversations with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful for the squad and to me and we have those conversations but they aren't calling me every single minute each day to say they back me.”

He added, “During our regular conversations we have I perceive the trust. However I've not talked to them since this match so far so we'll see.”

Persistent Problems and Player Reaction

The manager expressed regret over recurring weaknesses from his team in their European defeat, namely poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his view of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to everyone,” the midfielder stated.

“It is unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to consider it. I'm beyond feeling anger inside. I've reached the stage now where I just don’t have the phrases.”

“We’re going to try to get this team back to where it needs to be, prove again what this club is about and why people call it the greatest side in the planet.”
